New tools for the WUT community: SAGE Research Methods and SciFlow

The Main Library of the Warsaw University of Technology has expanded its resources with two unique tools supporting the research process and scientific writing: SAGE Research Methods and SciFlow.

SAGE Research Methods - is one of the most important and comprehensive platforms dedicated to scientific research methodology.

Sage Research Methods Methods is an interactive knowledge base that supports users at every stage of the research process: from formulating questions, through selecting appropriate methods, to analysing and publishing results. It contains over 1,000 books, reference works, journal articles, and instructional videos on research methods, as well as interactive tools such as Project Planner and Methods Map, which help users better understand and plan their research. Sage Research Methods is primarily intended for researchers, those teaching methodology, or those wishing to develop their research skills. The database is available on the Database List.
For more information, see the Quick Start Guide.

SciFlow tool enables the creation, editing, and formatting of scientific texts (including articles, theses, and doctoral dissertations) in any language.

Key advantages of SciFlow:

  • Scientific text editor: The tool offers a dedicated editor that facilitates writing scientific texts, including features such as automatic formatting, handling of footnotes, and bibliography management.
  • Document templates: It provides ready-made templates, including manuscript templates for scientific journals, allowing easy adjustment of documents to the editorial requirements of selected publishers.
  • Collaboration: The tool enables teamwork as well as commenting and editing texts in real time, while preserving the latest version of the document. Co-authors, supervisors, or other users (with the author’s permission) have direct access to the document and can comment on and revise it.
  • Bibliography and citations: SciFlow is integrated with bibliography managers (including Zotero, Mendeley, Citavi, EndNote) and offers over 8,000 citation styles.
  • Language correction: The tool supports creating scientific texts in any language; currently, language correction is available in English (LanguageTool) and German (Duden-Mentor).
  • LaTeX integration: SciFlow works with the LaTeX markup language, facilitating the creation of advanced scientific documents.
  • Document export: The tool allows exporting the final, professionally formatted text in various styles.
