New PRIMO library search engine available from 12 September
The libraries of Warsaw University of Technology are implementing modern library software Alma, integrated with the Primo multi-search engine.
What does this mean?
The implementation of the new software will allow access to:
- Primo search engine, enabling simultaneous searching of more than 150 domestic library catalogues and electronic resources;
- Primo Research Assistant tool, which uses artificial intelligence and allows questions to be asked in natural language;
- Logging in via the @pw.edu.pl account.
Timetable
- The new software will be launched on 12 September 2025.
- There will be a technical break from 3 to 11 September, during which there will be difficulties in accessing some services.
What are the implications of the service downtime (3-11 September)?
- Logging into a library account will be unavailable - it will not be able to order books online, check the account balance or queue for books, among other things.
- There may be temporary problems accessing electronic collections, especially from computers outside the WUT network.
- Payment via PayU will not work - fees can only be paid by traditional bank transfer or cash.
- Borrowing history will not be transferred to the new system. Readers wishing to save it are asked to notify a librarian by 1 September (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).
- Book return deadlines have been postponed until October.
- During the service downtime, all library services will continue to be provided but using alternative tools and procedures.
- Please return and borrow books during the period before or after the planned service downtime.
